For over 25 years I come in every day excited to help my clients by listening, connecting and planning to help them worry less and enjoy life more. As a first generation American and the oldest child, I was raised with a strong work ethic and defined by the “American Dream”. My parents arrived from Ireland in 1960 with limited education and little more than a positive attitude and a desire to work and build a future. They instilled in us the belief that hard work, education, and treating people with respect would lead to a happy and successful life. As a result, I connect with clients who enjoy challenges and have often created wealth through their own hard work and commitment to success.
Since 1994 I’ve been serving my clients as a financial advisor, and since 2011 I’ve held the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in an effort to raise my planning expertise to the highest level and provide more in depth solutions for my clients. Prior to that, I spent 7 years employed as a mechanical engineer. In 1987 I graduated with a BSME degree from Boston University. I am also licensed to provide insurance planning and strategies for my clients, and I carry several industry securities licenses. In 2013 I became a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Steward Partners Global Advisory, LLC. and have enjoyed every minute since, surrounded by this group of prudent and forward thinking advisors and colleagues.
Late in 1993, when I changed careers and left engineering to join Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor, my wife Susie and I began 9 terrific years in Seattle before moving back home to New England. Many of my clients still reside in Seattle. I also serve clients in San Francisco, San Diego, Denver, New York, and all over New England. My career brings me great happiness, terrific relationships, and the chance to build relationships with intelligent and interesting people.
Married since 1992, my wife Susie and I have 3 sons, two dogs, and one horse. Our oldest two are in college and youngest is in high school. Aside from enjoying travel together, Susie has returned to her childhood passion of competitive equestrian show jumping while I enjoy running in road races, playing golf, skiing, and cycling. Although I now have to accept the fact that I cannot keep up with my kids on a bike, on the road, or on skis, these activities are most fun when the boys join me to compete. Recently, they joined me to raise money for The American Diabetes Foundation and rode alongside me for 32 miles in Kennebunk, Maine.

After graduating from Regis High School ( NYC ) and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy ( Kings Point, NY ) , I embarked on a career in the field of engineering. During this period I got married, had four children, became very involved coaching youth sports, and went to night school to obtain an MBA degree in finance. My opportunity to follow my passion came in 1984 when my company merged and required me to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA. I chose to leave that firm and started with Prudential-Bache Securities. It’s been over thirty years since I made that decision and I still look forward to the market opening every morning and the challenges the markets presents.

The Guardian Asset Management Group at Steward Partners offers a variety of annuity solutions that best fit your needs including:
Variable annuities are a tax-deferred investment vehicle designed for retirement income and typically are accompanied by a guaranteed lifetime income rider provided by the issuing insurance company. Returns they deliver are based on the performance of the underlying securities, and usually offer a wide array of securities that the annuity holder can choose from.
Fixed annuities are designed as savings vehicles, similar to a CD, and are built for safety of principal and a consistent, guaranteed return. They offer a guaranteed minimum interest rate and tax-deferred accumulation.
Adding an income annuity to your portfolio may be a way to create not a lifetime payment stream, but also potentially produce more assets for growth and liquidity.
