SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Steward Partners is growing and so is the Project Management Office team! We are looking for an experienced project leader to manage several concurrent projects. In this role you will be hands-on to deliver strategic and complex initiatives for the firm and will contribute towards maturing project delivery. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with all functional areas to achieve stated objectives, goals, and deliverables for projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, execution, and control of projects ensuring consistency with and alignment to company strategies, policies, processes, and project delivery methodologies
- Interface with project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are aligned with business needs and expectations
- Determine the best project delivery approach for each initiative, utilizing waterfall or agile methods as applicable
- Develop, track, and publish project plans and/or sprint schedules
- Facilitate defining project scope, goals, and deliverables for projects
- Identify project risks and issues; Develop and execute mitigation plans
- Act as an escalation point for removing project barriers
- Prepare and present milestone reviews and status updates to key stakeholders
- Manage project budgets as applicable
- Establish, coordinate, and oversee project and agile teams
- Organize and lead team meetings
- Assist the team in achieving a high-level of performance and quality
- Bring new, more efficient ways of working to the team
- Provide guidance and direction to external vendors related to expectations of following SP approach to project delivery
- Manage onboarding and identifying project deliverables for external vendors
- Mentor team members
- Assist in establishing and implementing project delivery methodologies, processes, and best practices
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex initiatives
- Agile project management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and agile frameworks including waterfall, scrum and kanban
- Proficiency with Smartsheet and Jira preferred
- Financial Services Industry experience a plus
